CLASSICAL

The Classical Yoga Tradition originates from the Yoga Institute in Mumbai, the oldest yoga center in the world, founded in 1918. Classes typically include the sharing of yoga philosophy to deepen the experience, hatha yoga asana practice, followed by relaxation (savasana) and meditation. The teacher can make modifications for newcomers and for more advanced students.

VINYASA

This class focuses on linking breath and movement through a progression of postures that offer modifications (basic to advanced) for all levels of strength and flexibility. We will practice sun salutations, breathing practices, and basic postures. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves and work to their appropriate level of ability.

YIN

Yin Yoga is an all-levels class where you will be guided into held postures that will take you deeply into your connective tissues. With a focus on joints of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, this class is suitable to all levels of students. Great for beginners or advanced students alike. If you are looking for a class that focuses on restoring flexibility and/or working deeply into joints and tissues that are “locked up” from past injuries or from repetitive motion, this is the class for you!

GENTLE

In this class, we connect to our bodies and breath while cultivating awareness through gentle postures and movements. Suitable for everyone who wishes to slow down, release tension, focus the mind and enjoy the freedom of easeful movements. Intentionally set the tone for the rest of your day by cultivating a compassionate approach to life through flexibility and balance in body and mind. Yoga philosophy will be offered to deepen the practice.

CHAIR

A chair is a powerful tool that allows individuals to explore movement with confidence and support. Whether balance is a challenge, or the idea of sitting on the floor or a cushion seems challenging, this class offers the opportunity to experience a yoga practice that is accessible to virtually anyone. It also can serve as a gateway to other classes offerings in our studio.
