About Mill Yoga
At Mill Yoga (est. 2012), we offer yoga classes steeped in the classical style of yoga. Classical Yoga is based on the perennial wisdom of the 8 limbs of yoga psychology and philosophy. Our classes encompass postures, breathwork, and meditation. We believe that the system of yoga is an important “roadmap” for life and can guide us daily at home and work. Not only are we moving and flowing through postures, but we also consider the ancient teachings and consider how they might apply to our lives. Each of our classes offer sequences appropriate for all levels of yoga. Here at Mill, you will find gentle as well as more dynamic yoga. You will find quiet, slow classes that encompass deep stretching and time for rest and reflection; you will also find classes that challenge the body by building heat and strength. We offer monthly workshops and special classes in energy work, vibration as a tool for healing, journal work, discussion groups and more.
Our studio is located in the heart of historic downtown Exeter in the beautiful mill building on Chestnut Street. Our instructors are certified by Yoga Alliance. Come start your yoga journey here, or continue to build your practice with our thoughtful classes that support us as householders. Life is busy and here at Mill Yoga we proudly offer a community of connection, openness and acceptance.
Meet the Owners
Alice Bentley, E-RYT 200, and Carter Siegel, E-RYT 500 took ownership of Mill Yoga in March of 2023. Both Alice and Carter bring extensive experience in the teachings of yoga postures, philosophy and psychology. Both hold certifications with Yoga Alliance, are certified to teach continuing education to yoga teachers, and hold certifications in the field of Yoga Therapy - or the art of using yoga to transform suffering in body, mind, or spirit. Together they have a combined 30 years of teaching experience and lead the team at Mill Yoga. You will find both Carter and Alice teaching classes, working privately, and offering a variety of workshops to the Mill Yoga community. Alice and Carter also direct the Yoga Life Institute of New Hampshire LLC, which is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher training school along with their partner Allison Parks Dugas, E-RYT 500.
Alice and Carter believe in the power of yoga to transform lives and in the importance of community to provide sustenance and support. They seek to provide a nurturing space with high quality offerings to enrich students’ practice on and off the mat.
